What we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how to tell us to stop.
Last updated September 24, 2026
What this covers
This policy explains what information Sunset Stone Company collects through sunsetstoneco.com, our customer portal and our advertising, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website and online forms. It does not change our Terms of Sale.
What we collect
Information you give us. When you request an estimate, contact us, or use the customer portal, we collect what you submit — typically your name, company, phone number, email address, delivery city or ZIP, and details about your project. Customers with portal access also have order, load and invoice records associated with their account.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the site we and our providers may collect IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring page, and the date and time of your visit.
Advertising identifiers. If you reach us from an ad, the URL may carry a click identifier (for example Google's gclid, gbraid or wbraid, or Meta's fbclid). We store that identifier with your inquiry so we can tell which advertising actually produced real customers.
Calls. Some of our published phone numbers use call tracking. Calls to those numbers may be recorded or transcribed for quality and record-keeping where permitted by law; if a call is recorded you will be notified at the start of the call.
We do not intentionally collect payment card numbers through this website. Payments are handled through QuickBooks and our bank.
How we use it
- To answer your inquiry and prepare a quote.
- To take, schedule, produce, ship and invoice your order.
- To arrange freight — which means giving a carrier what they need to make the delivery.
- To keep business and accounting records.
- To measure whether our advertising works, and to improve the site.
- To send you information about your order, and occasionally about products or promotions. You can opt out of marketing messages at any time.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information.
We share what is necessary with:
- Carriers and brokers arranging or making your delivery — for dispatch we provide the delivery address, a contact first name and phone number, and the material. We deliberately keep customer company names and other details off carrier paperwork.
- Service providers who run parts of our business on our behalf — hosting, our load-tracking application, QuickBooks for invoicing and payment, email, and analytics or advertising measurement.
- Advertising platforms (Google, Meta), which receive conversion measurement data tied to the click identifier described above.
- Professional advisors such as our accountants, and others where required by law or to establish or defend legal claims.
Cookies and tracking
Our site and our advertising platforms use cookies and similar technologies to remember your session, measure traffic, and attribute advertising. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; parts of the site and portal may not work correctly if you do.
You can manage advertising preferences directly with the platforms — Google at myadcenter.google.com and adssettings.google.com, and Meta in your account's ad preferences. Most browsers also send a Global Privacy Control signal, which we honor where required.
How long we keep it
We keep inquiry and customer records as long as needed to run the relationship and to meet tax, accounting, warranty and legal requirements — generally at least seven years for transaction records. Inquiries that never become orders are kept for a shorter period.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop sending you marketing, by emailing nic.sunsetstone@gmail.com.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights — for example to know what we collect, to request deletion, to correct it, to opt out of targeted advertising, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. Tell us what you would like and we will honor it to the extent the law requires. We may need to verify your identity first.
Children
This is a business-to-business and construction supply website. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the information we hold, including role-based access limits in our own systems so that, for example, third-party yard crews cannot see customer or pricing information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
