About this stone
Milled Ledge Stone starts as Premium block. At our processing yard we mill the top and bottom of every stone flat and parallel to a uniform 12¾ inch height. The face — the side that shows in the wall — stays natural. Nothing on the face is ever milled.
Because every course is the same height, milled stone stacks flat and fast with tight horizontal joints and no shimming. Installers regularly tell us a milled wall goes up in about half the time of a natural-bed wall, which usually pays for the milling on labor alone.
Single-sided milled (bottom only) is available for cap courses and situations where only one bed needs to be true. Ends are left natural unless you order Milled with Sawn Ends.

Questions about Milled
What does milled mean?
The top and bottom beds are machined flat and parallel so every stone is the same height. The visible face is never milled — it keeps its natural split character.
Is single-sided milled cheaper?
Single-sided milled (one bed milled) is quoted the same way as double-sided. Choose it when only one bed needs to be true.
